The diseases caused by intestinal protozoan parasites are known as giardiasis, amoebiasis, and cryptosporidiosis respectively, and they are associated with diarrhoea. The most common intestinal protozoan parasites are: Giardia intestinalis, Entamoeba histolytica, and Cryptosporidium spp.
